Optical-layer sizing for a proposed light path: OSNR margin, reach budget versus path distance, regeneration sites, and the assigned C-band wavelength. Strand tracing lives on the fiber plant surface; this is the photonic layer above it.
Light-path planner
simThe planner draws the great-circle path between two PoPs, slices it into amplified spans sized for the line rate, and checks per-span OSNR against the FEC threshold. Regeneration sites snap to the nearest PoP where one sits close, otherwise they land as in-line amplifier huts.
